To whom this service is intended
1- Residence application form for investment : this will be completed on our DGM services portal.
2- Copy of the complete passport, with a minimum validity of one (1) year.
2.1 . in the event that the name that the foreigner has registered in the passport is different from that of his birth certificate, he must deposit the document that legally guarantees the change, either the marriage certificate if he has added the last name of the husband, the certificate of divorce if you do not want to appear with the husband’s last name, the adoption certificate, among others, that must be apostilled.
3- valid residence visa (rs), issued at the Dominican consulate of your country of origin or residence.
4 – original of the birth certificate, duly apostilled or legalized , as appropriate, and translated into Spanish if it is in another language.
4.1. In the event that the foreigner has acquired a nationality other than his nationality of origin, and wishes to become a resident with this acquired nationality, he must deposit a copy of the naturalization certified by the department of naturalizations that issued it, apostilled and translated into Spanish if It is in another language.
4.2. In the case of a change of name, the foreigner must deposit the act authorizing the change of name, apostilled and translated into Spanish if it is in another language.
4.3. in the case of nationals from countries where only one original document of the birth certificate is issued, a copy of it will be accepted, duly certified and translated into Spanish if necessary, legalized at the corresponding Dominican consulate or at the headquarters in the Dominican Republic of the consulate of origin of the applicant or the official entity authorized and legalized in the chancellery. Certificate of no criminal record , issued by the competent authority of the country (in case of countries with federal regimes must be issued by the federal authority) where you have resided in the last five (5) years, duly legalized or apostilled , as appropriate.
4.4. If this country is different from your country of origin, you must endorse this certification with a personal identity document of the country where you declare to have resided for the past 5 years.

7- deposits and / or investments in banks established abroad
7.1. certificate issued by the bank receiving the deposit or investment that produces the rent, certifying that the client has a deposit and / or investments in that banking institution that provides stable and permanent income for a period of not less than five years.
7.2. This document must also include the generals of the foreigner, account number, annual average balance, time that the account has; You must attach a certified copy of the investment certificate, if applicable, all these documents duly translated into Spanish by a judicial interpreter, apostilled or legalized by the Dominican consulate of the country of origin of the document.
7.3. Present receipt of foreign exchange to the country, by copy of checks or transfer notice of financial entity (s) established abroad.
7.4. certification in original, of the receiving bank in the Dominican Republic of the transfer of the money coming from the rent.
8- remittances from foreign banking or financial institutions.
8.1. proof issued by the banking or financial institution from which the funds that certify the origin of the money that gives reason for sending remittances and that provide stable and permanent income for a period of not less than five years; This certificate must be duly translated into Spanish by a judicial interpreter, apostilled or legalized by the Dominican consulate of the country of origin of the document. These funds can be special pension funds.
8.2. deposit an original certification from the receiving banking or financial institution in the Dominican Republic of remittances sent from the rent. If you are a savings certificate you must attach a copy, but you must bring the original for confirmation of the document.
9- investments in companies established abroad.
9.1. proof or certification issued by the company established abroad where the foreigner has his investments certifying that these investments will provide stable and permanent income for a period of not less than five years. This certificate must be duly translated into Spanish by a judicial interpreter, apostilled or legalized by the Dominican consulate of the country of origin of the document.
9.2. documentation that accredits you as a shareholder or company owner from which the income comes, constituent assembly of the company, commercial register, duly translated into Spanish by a judicial interpreter, apostilled or legalized by the Dominican consulate of the country of origin of the document.
9.3. deposit an original certification, from the receiving banking or financial institution in the Dominican Republic of the proceeds of the income from investment.
10- remittances originated from real estate located abroad.
10.1. proof that they enjoy permanent and stable income generated or coming abroad, for a period of not less than five years, through an original of the rental contract, copy of the original title of the property, duly translated into Spanish by a judicial interpreter, apostilled or legalized by the Dominican consulate of the country of origin of the document.
10.2. submit duly accredited evidence of remittances originating from real estate located abroad, such as: receipts of income from foreign currency to the country by means legitimately established and licensed for that purpose, backed by copy of check (s) or notice (s) of transfer of financial entity (s) established abroad to entities of the Dominican financial system.
11- interest earned on securities issued in foreign currency generated abroad, which are in financial institutions legally authorized to operate in the Dominican Republic.
11.1 . certificate issued by the financial institution authorized to operate in the Dominican Republic and that delivers the interests resulting from the titles issued in foreign currency generated abroad and that are in your institution, certifying that these interests will provide you with stable and permanent income for a period of not less than five years.
11.2. copy of the titles issued in foreign currency generated abroad, which generates the interests that make them beneficiaries of the investment residence program.
12- benefits obtained by investments in securities issued in foreign and / or national currency, with the state or its institutions, as long as the capital has been generated abroad and the currency exchange is made in any of the institutions of the financial system national.
12.1. Certificate issued by the state institution or its institutions that certifies that these benefits obtained by investment in securities issued in foreign and / or national currency will provide you with stable and permanent income for a period of not less than five years.
12.2. copy of the securities issued in foreign and / or national currency, but whose capital has been generated abroad.
12.3. deposit an original certification from the receiving banking or financial institution in the Dominican Republic of the money resulting from investments in securities issued in foreign and / or national currency, with the state or its institutions, where it specifies that it receives from the financial institution or corresponding bank a monthly deposit of the amount sent, which must be recorded, and the period of time that is receiving these transfers.
13- interests, income or dividends of real estate or real estate investments made in the Dominican Republic, whose investment has originated or accrued mainly with resources from abroad, received and consumed in the Dominican Republic.
13.1 . If you have made real estate investments:certification issued by registration of title to the property of the property purchased in the Dominican Republic and copy of the title. All documents must be legalized by the Attorney General’s Office.
13.2. in case of real estate investments that generate dividends and interest : certification of these investments: all documents must be legalized by the attorney general’s office.
13.3. If the rent is for renting the property, youmust deposit the rental contract duly registered or legalized in the Attorney General’s Office.
13.4. proof that the money invested in movable or real estate investments comes from abroad:
13.4.1. any type of proof that can justify the money invested, these documents must be apostilled and translated into Spanish if it is in another language. Present receipt of foreign exchange to the country, by copy of checks or transfer notice of financial entity (s) established abroad.
13.5 . The income received by any of the aforementioned items must be for a minimum amount oftwo thousand dollars (US $ 2,000.00) per monthor its equivalent in Dominican pesos. Similarly, for each direct dependent anadditionalsumof US $ 250.00 (two hundred and fifty dollars). In none of the cases does the income received by salaries apply, nor by profits or annual benefits of the company.
14- insurance policy (immigration bond) obtained through insurers (Domincana de Seguros)). This policy must also include dependents, spouses and children.
15- bank letter stating that you have a bank account in a Dominican bank.
16- conducting medical exams. This must be done within 3 days after payment and no medical examinations from institutions not authorized by DGM are admitted.
any other document that under the fine part of article 6 of the law no. 171-07, on special incentives for pensioners and rentiers from foreign sources, administratively require the foreign investment window of the immigration department of the General Directorate of Migration, tending to assure the Dominican state of the reliable nature of the alleged quality.
1- if the request includes the spouse must be made jointly with that of your husband, as a dependent, you must deposit the following documents of the wife: marriage certificate, birth certificate both in original apostilled or legalized and translated into Spanish , as appropriate, copy of the complete passport, four (4) photographs two (2) of the front and two (2) of the right profile, size ¨2 x 2 ”, copy of the residence visa, certification of criminal records apostilled or legalized and translated into Spanish , as appropriate.
2- if the application includes the minor children: you must deposit the following birth certificate documents in original apostilled or legalized and translated into Spanish , as appropriate, copy of the complete passport, copy of the residence visa, four (4) photographs two (2) front and two (2) right profile size ¨2 x 2 ”, certified criminal record apostilled or legalized, as appropriate. In the case of children under sixteen (16) years, the criminal record requirement is not required. In the case of children over 18 years of age of the beneficiary, they can only be included if they are financially dependent on the beneficiary of the program for reasons of studies or disability.
3 – must include additional a repatriation policy, as provided in article 57 paragraph 16, of regulation no. 631-11 for application of law 285-04, on migration.
Procedure to follow
1. Enter the dgm service portal. ( https://personal.migracion.gob.do/ )
1.1. Register in the system (if you are registered, enter your username and password)
1.2. Choose the “application list” option, from the list of available services, choose the one you requested, and complete the required information on the forms.
1.3. The system will notify you about the status of your request
2- The scanned documents must be in .jpg format for the application via web.
3- The applicant has thirty (30) days to deposit all the original documents after having entered Dominican territory, otherwise, he must pay a penalty (see stay payment table).
4- Present to the DGM with the original documentation plus a complete set of copies.
5- All documents in another language must be translated into Spanish, by the Dominican consulate in the country of origin of the applicant or by a judicial interpreter in the Dom.
6- At the end of the deposit of the required documentation, the authorization to carry out the medical examination and the approval of the payment of the services, the “document receipt form” for the withdrawal of the requested temporary residence will be delivered to the applicant, in case of being approved.
7- The medical examination must be carried out within three days after payment ( including the day of payment ), otherwise you must make the payment again. you must wait ten days to know the results of them.
8- All documents deposited in the DGM must be original and must be duly notarized, legalized and apostilled as appropriate.
