Canadian Border Services Agency recognizes collaborative ties with the DGM

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Directorate General of Immigration (DGM) received significant recognition from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) in gratitude for the valuable institutional collaboration between the two entities.

The recognition was presented to the head of the DGM, Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester (ARD), by the technicians from the Canadian Embassy accredited in the country, Pier-Luc Beausejour, CBSA Regional Liaison Officer, and Fernando Borgia. Both presented a plaque highlighting the DGM's contribution to strengthening cooperation ties with the Canadian agency.

Vice Admiral Lee Ballester received the award accompanied by Brigadier General Juan Carlos Vicente Pérez (FARD) and Colonel Manuel Carrasco Guerrero (ERD), directors of Intelligence and Immigration Control, respectively, of the DGM.

The senior military official expressed his gratitude for the diplomatic delegates' gesture and reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with the CBSA on all joint initiatives. He also expressed his gratitude for the continued support received from the CBSA, particularly in the training of Dominican immigration personnel on identifying fraudulent documentation and other key areas of immigration management.

“Strengthening our technical and operational capabilities is a priority, and this cooperation with the CBSA has been instrumental in achieving this. We reiterate our commitment to continue supporting and strengthening this strategic alliance for the benefit of safe and orderly migration,” said Lee Ballester.

He also reiterated his willingness to maintain and expand international cooperation ties with the goal of continuing to develop modern, safe migration policies aligned with the highest international standards.
