DGM detains and repatriates 176 Haitians by Elías Piña

ELÍAS PIÑA.– The General Directorate of Migration (DGM), with the support of the military and police forces present in the area, detained and repatriated 176 Haitian nationals with irregular immigration status, as part of the reinforcement of border controls, in compliance with Law 285-04.

Of the total number of people apprehended, 133 were men and 33 were women, accompanied by 10 minors. All were transported to their countries of origin through this border crossing, following established protocols, and handed over to the corresponding authorities in their countries of origin.

According to the details of the interdictory day,

115 undocumented individuals (90 men, 19 women, and 6 minors) were detained by immigration units in this municipality. In Las Matas de Farfán, 24 people were detained (13 men, 7 women, and 4 minors), and in San Juan de la Maguana, 37 people (30 men and 7 women).

The General Directorate of Migration reiterated its commitment to modern, humane, transparent, and supportive migration management, guaranteeing dignified and empathetic treatment for all people and always acting in strict compliance with human rights and current regulations.
