DGM investigates foreigner's fall while being pursued.

La Altagracia. _ Since the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) became aware of the circulation of a video in the media and social networks, showing the pursuit of several foreigners on the roof of a house, it has been investigating the circumstances in which the events occurred in Bávaro, La Altagracia province.
The DGM guarantees citizens that when the investigations determine who committed the offence in the interdiction operation, it will take the corresponding measures to avoid repeating the events and will proceed against whoever is found responsible. The foreigner who fell is recovering in a health centre in Bávaro.
The Director General of Migration, Venancio Alcántara, repudiates this type of action and condemns these methods that are not approved by his administration.
Very often, members of interdiction operations, in which DGM collaborators participate supported by military personnel from the Armed Forces, are given guidance on how they should act to comply with Law 285 – 04 on Migration and respect for human rights.
The instructions are to carry out your work in accordance with the ethical standards of the institution and what to do under certain circumstances.
