SANTO DOMINGO. – As part of its strategy to guarantee quality, efficient, and timely services to its users, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) held a training session to strengthen the skills of its customer service staff.
The activity was aimed at Immigration Directorate employees responsible for the counter areas, GOB points, and the regional offices in Punta Cana, Santiago, and Puerto Plata, to manage the related processes and ensure transparent, orderly management aligned with established protocols.
The training session included a comprehensive induction program, focusing on key topics related to the immigration process, such as certification of immigration movements, permits for minors, and requirements for first-time residency. The training included response times, schedules, stakeholders, and file organization.
Key aspects were also addressed, such as apostilles, legalizations and legal documents according to country of origin, status ties, category changes, authorized laboratories and medical examinations, types of clearance by category, and permits for artists, athletes, and exchange students (PADEI).
The training was provided by a specialized technical team led by Cristina Rodríguez Rodríguez, Jimena Nadal, Gisel Castro, Dorisel Rodríguez, Clarinet Rosario, and Jessica Marte.
The Immigration Office emphasized that these types of initiatives seek to ensure that personnel involved in receiving and processing immigration documents perform their work based on the principles of ethics, morality, integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
