In 47 operations, Immigration detains more than six thousand foreigners in irregular status in one week.

The actions were carried out in 8 provinces and twice in FRIUSA.

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reports that during the week of November 26 to December 2, it carried out 47 immigration interdiction operations in the National District, the province of Santo Domingo, Santiago, Azúa, Elías Piña, Dajabon, Pedernales, Jimani, El Seybo and La Altagracia.

As a result of these actions, 7,025 foreigners who were in an irregular immigration situation in the Dominican Republic were detained.

The DGM reiterates its commitment to always carry out these interventions under the principles of respect for the physical integrity of people and guaranteeing their fundamental rights, in strict compliance with current laws and international protocols on migration.

These actions are part of the institution's ongoing efforts to regularize and ensure compliance with immigration regulations in the country, with the contribution of the Army, Navy, Air Force of the Dominican Republic, the National Police and CIUTRAN.

The General Directorate of Migration reaffirms its willingness to maintain these operations, always ensuring humane and dignified treatment of all persons, with the aim of strengthening coexistence and social peace, in accordance with the mandate of the Defense and Security Council of the Dominican Republic.
