In the first 15 days of March, the DGM repatriated almost 13,000 undocumented Haitians and charged 12 people with criminal offenses.

The agency that regulates entry, stay and exit from the country also brought to justice, in that same period of time, eight (8) Dominicans and four (4) Haitians accused of crimes such as migrant trafficking, document forgery, rebellion against authority, destruction of state property, fraud, theft and bribery.
The charges are the result of strengthening the operational and investigative capabilities of the DGM's legal department and were processed in Pedernales, Independencia, Bahoruco, Independencia, Jimaní, Santo Domingo Este, and the National District. Those involved were subjected to coercive measures ranging from pretrial detention, bail, and financial guarantees, to being barred from leaving the country.
Regarding those expelled, 5,817 were deported from the detention centers of Haina (4,202), Santiago (1,146), and Dajabón (469). A total of 7,147 undocumented Haitians were also repatriated, of whom 2,463 went through the Elías Piña border crossing, 2,456 through Dajabón, 1,286 through Jimaní, and 942 through Pedernales.
Those returned to their country of origin were detained in 124 operations as part of the expanded plan for the interdiction and containment of foreign flows ordered by President Luis Abinader to be applied throughout the national territory. These operations were carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, the National Army, the Dominican Navy, the Dominican Air Force, the Public Ministry, Digesett, the Ciudad Tranquila Task Force, and other government entities.
The DGM's operations are part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at maintaining stability and transparency in all aspects of the immigration issue. Deportations are carried out in accordance with the legal framework and guarantee and respect the human rights of immigrants, whether they are men, women, pregnant women, the elderly, children, or adolescents.
The agency responsible for regulating the flow of migration and the stay of foreigners in the Dominican Republic has also focused its efforts on strengthening controls at ports and airports, implementing measures to prevent the irregular entry and exit of individuals. It has also optimized immigration services, ensuring greater efficiency in verification and oversight processes.
