Migration Director informs Census advances positively in Montecristi where he coordinates the work

In his capacity as supervisor of the day in this province, the General Director of Migration,
Venancio Alcántara, reported that the Tenth National Population and Housing Census,
advances successfully, where he explained that they have sufficient personnel and equipment for the
execution of data collection work.
Alcántara, highlighted that there has been a resounding receptivity and accompaniment to the Office
National Statistics Office (ONE), by local authorities in the development of the
Census, as ordered by President Luis Abinader, and that the operation of the equipment
electronics and human personnel operate in 95 percent, thus facilitating work in
area.
He assured, that within the framework of the X National Population and Housing Census 2022, they have visited
the six municipalities and five municipal districts of the Montecristi province, including San
Fernando, Cabecera municipality, Guayubín, Las Matas de Santacruz, Villa Vásquez, Pepillo
Salcedo and Castañuela, where the enumerators implement the digital questionnaires of
this measurement.
The official specified that "We start simultaneously at 8:00 a.m. this Thursday, April 10.
September and until the 23rd of the current month, where a large team supervised the
different municipalities, the tablets have worked excellently, which has allowed
expedite the work," he said.
Likewise, the Governor of that demarcation, Nelsy Cruz, specified that they have deployed all
the necessary logistics arranged by President Abinader, to make the Census successful
Nacional, meanwhile, the mayors Jesús Jerez, Samuel Toribio among others have specified that the
population of Montecristi has responded positively to the work, whose collaboration to
make this diagnosis possible, has facilitated the movement of enumerators and
supervisory authorities.
The General Director of Migration, Venancio Alcántara, was appointed supervisor in charge
of the Census in that demarcation by President Luis Abinader for the province of
Montecristi, where he is also accompanied by officials from the institution, including the
deputy general directors Silvestre Ventura and Ely Encarnación, Juan Souffront, Director of
Planning and Development, Nelson Gutiérrez, Director of Communications, also Adolfo
Serrata, Director of Immigration, who together with authorities of the province
supervise.
As government commissioner in that province, Venancio Alcántara, explained that, with the
X National Population and Housing Census, the government through the ONE, seeks to generate
Necessary statistics on the number of Dominicans living in the national territory,
among other data that he considered of vital importance for the design and execution of policies
aimed at improving people's quality of life.
