Migration trains its members in action in emergency situations

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) held a workshop on the formation of "Emergency Brigades" through which personnel from different areas of the institution were trained on how to act in a possible risk or emergency situation.
The course was taught by technicians from the Human Resources Department, in order to select the members of the Emergency Committee, the facilitator was Juan Marmolejos, Occupational Health and Safety Advisor, with a duration of seven hours.
During the development of the training, different dynamics were carried out on the characteristics of being a member of the emergency brigade, application of the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) technique, first aid; in addition to how to act in the event of an accident, sinister and catastrophe, where examples were exposed through practices.
The objective of the course is to form a body of emergency brigade members, trained with a vocation and at the same time teach the participants about the importance and responsibility of assuming a commitment not only with the institution, but also with themselves.
In this sense, the General Director of Migration, Venancio Alcántara, highlighted the importance for the institution and for the collaborators themselves, to be prepared in this matter, which significantly contributes to saving lives.
Those trained are responsible for combating preventively or in the event of a high risk, emergency, accident or disaster, within the institution and whose function is aimed at safeguarding people, their property and their environment.
In addition, groups of multipliers will be formed to continue expanding the necessary knowledge and techniques on behavior in the face of a phenomenon of this nature.
