Santo Domingo. _ The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) held various workshops and training sessions to strengthen the knowledge of the institution's employees, improve their practices and learn to perform more efficiently.
Director General Venancio Alcántara stressed the importance of Migration workers remembering their work in front of the population every day and avoiding being the target of criticism for not acting in accordance with the law, responsibility and ethics. That is why these training sessions are held.
Last week, training was provided on human rights, mobility for children, customer service and others, in accordance with Law 285 – 04, training that is frequently provided by the DGM in coordination with other institutions.
The Public Prosecutor's Office, through the Santo Domingo prosecutor, Ramón de la Rosa, was giving a workshop on human trafficking and how to fill out court records. At Barna Management School, a training course on public administration and high-quality services and characteristics of children and adolescents on the move in the Dominican Republic.
Training was also provided to members of the Armed Forces who assist the DGM in interdiction operations.
