The General Directorate of Migration repatriates more than six thousand foreigners detained in illegal conditions in the country in recent days.

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported today, Tuesday, that in the last 6 days
has repatriated to their country of origin 6,492 undocumented immigrants, detained in operations carried out in
various points of the national geography since last week, in compliance with what is established by the
Law 285-04 on Migration.

The migratory interdiction operations were carried out in various provinces and communities of the
country, including Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Vega, Jarabacoa, Dajabon, Elías Piña, Barahona, Azua
and Pedernales, among others.

In the National District, 1,871 undocumented immigrants were detained, in Santiago 1,744 were the
interdicted, while in La Vega and Jarabacoa, immigration agents detained 263, in Dajabón,
549, Elías Piña106, Jimaní 345, Pedernales 194, and in the communities of Benerito 366, and Los Pilones
84.

Through a press release, the General Directorate of Migration indicated that the sessions were
reinforced with agents of the Specialized Border Security Corps (CESFRONT) members of the
Army of the Dominican Republic, agents of the National Police, among other personnel.

The institution reiterated that in each and every one of the interventions, the acting personnel is instructed
permanently by the general director, Venancio Alcántara, in order to maintain an attitude
humanitarian, guarantee the integrity of each person avoiding incurring in excess.

He assured "In these operations, in the previous and subsequent ones, the head of this institution Venancio
Alcántara, has given precise instructions to always act respecting the rights of
detainees, and in compliance with what is established by the Migration Law that regulates the presence of
foreigners in the country" concluded the note from the General Directorate of Migration.
