REORGANIZATION OF THE DGM
This year, the DMG is undergoing a reorganization process that includes increasing the number of Immigration Agents by integrating young people who are being trained in an intensive training course, a practice offered for the first time at the institution. The first 160 are already working, and a second training period began immediately, adding another 455.
In addition, the vehicle fleet has been renovated, including more suitable transport for the institution's tasks, and a large portion of the old transport equipment has been restored.
Among the most important reorganization initiatives undertaken, the DGM cites the strengthening and reorganization of the Immigration Intelligence Directorate, the strengthening of the Immigration Interdiction Area, the creation of the Internal Affairs Directorate, the Counterintelligence Directorate, the Innovation and Technological Development Directorate, the Cybersecurity Directorate, and the expansion of the DGM's Immigration Department.
These initiatives, he assures, will improve the services that the institution offers to the public, and its capacity to identify and pursue organized groups for the trafficking of irregular migrants and human trafficking.
