Pedernales. – The Director General of Migration, Vice Admiral Luis R. Ballester (ARD) alerted businessmen, merchants, citizens, as well as DGM employees about the importance of maintaining the containment of irregular migratory flows to protect and safeguard Dominican security and sovereignty.
The Vice Admiral reiterated that he is dedicated day and night to the cause and the commitment he assumed to defend national integrity, always guaranteeing respect for the human rights of the interdicted foreigners.
During a tour of Pedernales, Lee Ballester indicated that he is visiting the border provinces to prevent new settlements of illegal foreigners in coordination with the institutions that make up the Defense and Security Council of the Dominican Republic, which instructed the mass deportation of illegal foreigners.
The director of Migration met with the prosecutor of Pedernales, Dervio Heredia, the provincial governor Edirda de Oleo, the mayor of Oviedo, Ramón Pérez, as well as the representative of the hotel chain IBEROSTAR, who guaranteed that he will cooperate with the authorities and will not hire foreigners without their legal documents.
He toured the smart perimeter wall that the Ministry of Defense is building at the Pedernales border crossing and the progress it has made. He also listened to Haitian nationals who explained to him the situation they are living in.
