DIRECTORATE OF MIGRATION CONGRATULATES THE JOURNALISTS ON THEIR DAY

On April 5, 1822, José Núñez de Cáceres founded the first newspaper in the country, “El Telégrafo Constitucional”

The National Directorate of Migration (DGM) recognized this Friday the work carried out by journalists, congratulating them for being an important support of democracy and playing their role as a link between those who govern and the governed.

Its director Venancio Alcántara said that the work of Dominican reporters and communicators has been fundamental for the institution he directs and especially for the moment that the Dominican Republic is going through, whose work has been key to the work carried out by the entity that applies the national immigration policy governed by law 285 – 04.

On this special occasion to celebrate the National Day of the Dominican Journalist, which is commemorated on April 5 in our beloved Dominican Republic.

National Dominican Journalist Day is not just a date on the calendar, but a reminder of the importance of the free press and the fundamental role that journalists play in our democracy. It is a day to reflect on the commitment, courage and dedication that these professionals demonstrate every day, facing challenges and obstacles to bring the truth to light.

Each article, report, interview or investigation carried out by a journalist contributes to the strengthening of our society and the full exercise of our rights. Therefore, it is crucial that we recognize and value their hard work, professional ethics, and constant pursuit of truth.

We want to take this opportunity to invite you to join us in celebrating this significant day. We encourage you to take a moment to congratulate through our publication on Social Networks which you can find as  migracionrdo , send and share the post to a journalist. A simple gesture of recognition can mean a lot to those who dedicate their lives to informing and educating us about the events that shape our world.

From the General Directorate of Immigration, we extend our most sincere gratitude to all journalists for their tireless work and their commitment to truth and justice. Happy National Day of the Dominican Journalist!
