General Directorate of Migration changes entry stamp to the Dominican Republic

Starting this Monday, the stamp “Admitted” will no longer be used, but rather “Entry.”

Santo Domingo. _ The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) eliminated as of Monday the “ADMITTED” stamp that it had been using in passports to record the entry of citizens coming from another country to the Dominican Republic and from now on will use “ENTRY.”

Starting July 15, passports of nationals and foreigners will be stamped with the “ENTRADA” stamp at immigration checkpoints throughout the country, and the length of stay on Dominican soil will be established in writing for foreigners.

Resolution number DGM – 02 – 2024 establishes that the writing cannot obstruct the reading of the date of the stamp of those who are verified to enter the Dominican Republic.

In one of the Considerations, Migration explains that the change is being made to standardize the stamps used by inspectors, optimize functions and avoid confusion in the use of the stamp.

The DGM, protected by the Dominican Constitution, Law 285 – 04, its implementing regulations 631 – 11, international conventions and agreements, communicated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the authorized airlines operating in the country.
