Immigration operations intensified in Hoyo de Friusa: 236 undocumented immigrants arrested in 48 hours

Santo Domingo, DR.- Approximately 125 Haitians in an irregular migration situation were detained in operations by the General Directorate of Migration in the Mata Mosquitos sector, in El Hoyo de Friusa, in the Bávaro area of La Altagracia province.
The group of undocumented immigrants includes 98 men and 27 women, as part of the operations carried out by Immigration brigades this Thursday morning, following the march held last Sunday by the Ancient Dominican Order.
Immigration reported that 236 undocumented immigrants have been arrested in El Hoyo de Friusa over the last 48 hours.
The Immigration operations involve members of the Dominican Army, the Dominican Navy (ARD), the Dominican Air Force (FARD), the National Police (PN), the Joint Task Force Ciudad Tranquila (CIUTRAN), the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the General Directorate of Land Transit and Transportation.
The Immigration Directorate indicated that it will maintain its comprehensive policy of detaining and deporting undocumented immigrants, in accordance with the provisions of Law 285-04, the mandate of the National Defense and Security Council, and the directives of President Luis Abinader.
He also emphasized the importance of safeguarding national security and sovereignty through safe and orderly work that contributes to the well-being of the population, and management that promotes a safe and fair immigration environment.
