The DGM increases its fleet of vehicles to strengthen interdiction days

Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, ARD, general director of the institution that regulates and controls the entry, stay and exit of foreigners in the country, handed over the keys to the ten vans to Rear Admiral Juan Gilberto Núñez Abreu, ARD, director of immigration control, “so that they can immediately enter into the interdiction operations that we are carrying out with our personnel.”
The head of the DGM announced that they are also expecting about 50 trucks and another 50 vans that will be delivered by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona. He said that with this mobility not only will the work of the agency increase, but the conditions of transfer of foreigners detained for their illegal status in the country will also be substantially improved.
Lee Ballester also said that he will receive buses prepared for the exclusive transport of women, especially pregnant women, the elderly and children who have been detained in interdiction operations.
He explained that these measures strengthen physical protection protocols and guarantee humane, dignified and quality treatment for all those interned, without distinction of nationality or color.
The vehicles were purchased with the DGM's own funds, meeting all public procurement and contracting requirements, thereby demonstrating the company's commitment to transparency and efficient use of resources.
The ceremony was also attended by Brigadier General Juan Carlos Vicente Pérez, FARD, director of immigration intelligence, and Colonel Manuel Carrasco Guerrero, ERD, in charge of immigration interdiction at the national level, of the DGM.
