The DGM intervenes in Hacienda Estrella in interdiction after illegal aliens
Cita de departamento de comunicaciones en mayo 12, 2025, 7:57 amLA VICTORIA, Santo Domingo Norte.- The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) deployed a broad operation here to interdict Haitian nationals lacking legal documentation, as part of the institution's strategic plan to combat informal migration, preserve public order, and strengthen territorial security.
The actions, which began early this morning, focused on Hacienda Estrella lands invaded by foreigners, where 55 people were detained illegally, 23 of whom were men and 13 women with 19 children of various ages. They were also assisted in the transfer of 17 packages of their belongings.
The DGM units' activity was coordinated with members of the Dominican Republic Army and the National Police, in compliance with the immigration measures recently announced by President Luis Abinader to reduce the presence of undocumented foreigners.
The detainees, with their inalienable rights respected and offered easy transfer, were taken to the DGM's reception center in Haina. Their biometric data and fingerprints were taken, their identity was cleared in accordance with Dominican law, and they were subsequently taken to the binational border gates where they were handed over to the authorities of their home countries.
The DGM reiterated that it will continue to implement the specific measures established in Law 285-04 and comply with the mandates of the Government and the National Defense and Security Council, in accordance with the agreements assumed by the State and its commitments to human rights.
