The General Director of Migration, Venancio Alcántara, informed that they have had the
necessary personnel in all airports to expedite the entry and exit of passengers from the
country, about high season.
During a supervision tour with the director of the Airport Department, Víctor
Pichardo, through the Cibao International Airport, specified that it seeks to verify the proper
operation of the Immigration personnel and the correct operation of the terminal before the
massive arrival of passengers during these Christmas holidays.
Alcántara, assured that the necessary and sufficient personnel have been made available, in order to expedite
the entry and exit of passengers from the country’s airports, to avoid creating traumas
in terms of passenger flow.
He indicated “We suggest that citizens register and use the autogate, which is the step
of passengers, so that its process can be more agile”, said Alcántara.
The Director of the Airport Department, Víctor Pichardo, assured “We broke the record
again at our international airports in November, receiving more
of one million 261 thousand passengers, and in this month of December, through this Cibao airport
where more ethnic passengers arrive, the arrival of more than 154 thousand is projected
people,” Pichardo said.
Pichardo specified that this initiative is carried out within the framework of the Flow Management Plan of
Passengers in High Season, which came into force on November 15 in all
international airports.
During the tour both officials were accompanied by the general administrator
from the airport, Teófilo Gómez, who indicated that in the terminal they have taken all the
forecasts of the place so that the Dominicans who arrive through the Cibao are in a
pleasant.
The Cibao International Airport is in the process of a deep removal;
in the first quarter of next year, the construction of a new terminal will begin.
