General Directorate of Immigration brings to justice an individual who entered and transferred Haitians illegally to the country.

After receiving submission from the DGM, the Public Ministry will announce the coercive measures that it will impose on the offender .

PERAVIA. The General Directorate of Migration (DGM), through legal consulting, submitted an individual to the Baní Prosecutor’s Office, Peravia province, for human trafficking by entering and transferring three foreigners of Haitian nationality to Dominican territory irregularly.

            Richard Medina de los Santos, 41, was detained at the Los Pilones interagency post, in the province of Peravia, by agents from the Immigration Directorate in a Honda CR-V jeep, which at the time of his arrest pretended to be alone in the vehicle. .

             The foreigners were found in the trunk of the vehicle, two women and a man, all undocumented, who were detained and will be deported to their country of origin in accordance with the provisions of law 285-04.

             The driver of the vehicle did not have a driver’s license, insurance, registration, or a document indicating that he had crossed the border. He will be subjected to violation of the Immigration Law, human trafficking, violation of the penal code, traffic law and other charges.
