Hotel owners in Pedernales who were hiding illegal aliens are brought to justice.

Eighteen Haitians were detained at the Yaniri Hotel on Tuesday and were to be transported to another part of the country that evening.

Pedernales. _ The Pedernales Permanent Attention Court imposed periodic presentation and financial guarantee as a coercive measure on two men and a woman who were hiding illegal aliens in a hotel in Pedernales who were then sought out by other individuals to transport them to different points in the Dominican Republic

Those brought to justice are Rubert Fernandez, 66 years old, owner of the Yaniri hotel, located on 27 de Febrero street in that municipality, his daughter Yermaris Fernandez Feliz, 29 years old, who acted in complicity with her father to protect the foreigners and the Haitian Jackenson Fil (Chimbala), resident in the town of Anse-a-Pitre, in Haiti, who brought his compatriots illegally.

In a joint operation of the Public Ministry, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), the National Army, the Specialized Corps of Border Security (CESFRONT) and other state intelligence agencies, an operation was carried out where 18 foreigners were arrested.

The Haitian irregulars, 10 men, 6 women and two children, were deported to their country of origin in accordance with the provisions of Law 285-04 on Migration and its implementing regulations, Decree 631-11.

The General Directorate of Migration reiterates that it will continue to fulfill its duty and apply the rules in accordance with the law, with respect for human rights and in accordance with the international standards of which the Dominican Republic is a signatory.
