Santo Domingo, DR. – The General Directorate of Immigration (DGM) reported that several men captured on video during an alleged immigration interdiction operation in the municipality of Navarrete, Santiago, are impostors.


The incident occurred on the main street of the aforementioned municipality, where a crowd, upon realizing the irregular, inappropriate and far from the guidelines of the real immigration agents, proceeded to record it, which prevented them from abusively arresting several Haitian nationals. in the zone.


Likewise, Immigration explained that its agents do not use firearms during immigration interdiction operations, since those who carry weapons are military and police in the joint tasks they carry out and
travel in duly labeled and identified vehicles.


He also reported that the alleged agents who were moving in Navarrete, wore black clothes with the name of Immigration, they were traveling in a white Hyundai minibus, license plate I032222, which does not correspond to that of the vehicle, which is not a unit either. in which Migration carries out operations.


Through a press release, the institution assured that the incident is being investigated in order to determine the real circumstances that motivated these actions, clearly establish the conduct of these people and act accordingly.


In that sense, he called on the corresponding authorities to pursue, arrest and bring these individuals to justice.
