SANTO DOMINGO.- The Public Prosecutor’s Office imposed three months of prison, as a coercive measure, against the defendants who attacked and shot two interdiction agents in an operation of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM).
The Permanent Attention Court imposed three months of preventive detention on the Haitian citizen Donald Almonord, and a ban on leaving the country, periodic reporting and 15 thousand pesos as a financial guarantee on Juan de Suaci and Yevit Seflet. The prison sentence will be served in Najayo Hombres.
Likewise, a minor was sent to the Court for Children and Adolescents, where the corresponding measure will be imposed.
These legal actions are the result of submissions made by the legal department of the agency responsible for immigration control.
The foreigners are accused of shooting Lieutenant Kelvin Valdez Rivas (ARD) and assaulting agent Silvio Marino Pérez, when both were carrying out an interdiction operation in the Piantini district in the National District.
