The head of Migration, Venancio Alcántara, warned that transport companies will be
sanctioned

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported this Friday that its agents
intercepted two buses, in two separate events, and detained 37 Haitians
undocumented.

was intercepted on the Juan Pablo II highway and was driven by José Manuel Rosario
Santana, with 25 Haitians. The driver was also detained.

While the other bus, record F-369, from the transportation company Caribe Tours, had
12 Haitian passengers in irregular migratory conditions. He was driven at the time of
being intercepted by Víctor Terrero, in the check of Las Matas de Santa Cruz, province
Montecristi.

At the time the vehicle was inspected in Montecristi, the Haitians upon being requisitioned,
they did not carry legal documents that accredited them as foreigners in transit in the country,
therefore, together with the driver, they were transferred to the fortress of the Fourth Infantry Brigade
of the Army, in the Valverde province.

The head of Migration, Venancio Alcántara, warned that transport companies will be
sanctioned, as well as bus drivers, as established by Law 285-
04 and the regulations, for committing the crime of undocumented trafficking.

Venancio Alcántara specified that “under no circumstances” will he allow the law to be violated
in this sense, for which reason it reiterated that it will act accordingly in accordance with the power that
