MIGRATION RETURNS 13,475 ILLEGAL FOREIGNERS SO FAR IN THE MONTH OF DECEMBER

After being arrested in simultaneous operations carried out in recent weeks throughout the
national territory, the General Directorate of Migration, reported that between days 01 and 20 of
December, 13,475 undocumented foreigners have been repatriated to their countries of origin, in their great
majority Haitian nationals.

The institution, under the direction of Venancio Alcántara, indicated that the deportees were arrested
in the migratory interdiction operations implemented in different parts of the geography
national.

The actions against undocumented foreigners were carried out in different sectors of the
Santo Domingo province and the National District, such as Cristo Rey, Villa Juana, Villa Francisca,
Ensanche la Fe, Los Ríos, Villa Mella, Los Alcarrizos, Pantoja, Santo Domingo East and West.

Also in Santiago, La Vega, Jarabacoa, Dajabón, Elías Piña, Jimaní and Pedernales, as well as in the
communities of Benerito and los Pilones, among others.

With these operations, the DGM complies with the mandate of Law 285-04 on migration, to arrest and
repatriate all foreigners who are in the country in irregular migratory conditions, as well
as undocumented.

Given the actions carried out against the transit and trafficking of undocumented immigrants in the country, the
Director General of Migration, Venancio Alcántara, reiterated that the operations are carried out in accordance with
to the rules and respect for the integrity of the person, in order to guarantee fundamental rights
from each person.

Similarly, the head of Migration reiterated that the operations will continue to be implemented in
the entire national territory to prevent the massive entry of illegals into the Dominican Republic through
Purpose of the truce for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
