The General Directorate of Migration reported that 247 undocumented immigrants were detained in an interdiction operation carried out in the Friusa sector of Bávaro, in the Altagracia province. Among those arrested are 191 men, 25 women and 31 children, who were taken to Verón for purification and then sent to their country through the Elías Piña border crossing.

This operation had the support of the Ministry of Defense and other institutions, seeking to strengthen immigration controls and ensure compliance with Law 285-04 on migration. The DGM indicated that prior to the interdiction day, intelligence work was carried out in the Friusa sector, and it was allowed to identify the specific places where to carry out the interdiction operation, and proceed to detain the undocumented foreigners.

The operation began at five in the morning, taking into account the physical integrity of the people involved, as well as respecting the rights of citizens. In addition to the military personnel, immigration agents, military supervisors, doctors, politur and Conani personnel participated, among others.
