Requirements

1- They do not need a Minor Travel Authorization Certification:

  • Minors accompanied by both parents.
  • Minors with a single surname (maternal affiliation) who travel in the company of their mother.
  • Minors with legal residence in another country and stay of less than 6 months in the Dominican Republic.
  • Minors with dual nationality and stay of less than 6 months in the Dominican Republic.
  • With legal residence in the Dominican Republic traveling in the company of both parents.
  • With non-resident immigration status (students, athletes, artists and exchange students).

2-You need a Minor Travel Authorization Certification:

Those under 18 years of age.

3- Requirements necessary to request a CAM. which must be scanned in JPG FORMAT and uploaded to the website to obtain the service:
In case the request is made by the person interested in the document, they are:

3.1 Minors of Dominican nationality traveling in the company of one of the parents:
Authorization of the father of the minor, who will not travel; Said authorization must be through a power of attorney, duly legalized by the Attorney General’s Office and attaches a copy of the identity card of the authorizing father or mother.

3.2 Minors of Dominican nationality traveling with a third person or airline:

If the minor is traveling with a third person, or with the airline, both parents must authorize the departure of the minor, through a notarized power legalized by the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, attached with a copy of the identity cards of both parents.

4-  Documents to scan in JPG format and upload to the website to obtain the service:

a) Power of attorney and legalized in the Attorney General’s Office of the Dominican Republic when the minor travels with one of the parents or third person or with the name of the airline with which they would travel, if it is the case of the authorization.
b) Copy of the passport page containing the biometric data of the third party authorized by the parents to go out with the minor. (if he is a foreigner).
c) A copy (1) of the minor’s passport page, with the biometric data and the companion’s data (If he or she is a foreigner).
d) One (1) 2×2 front photograph of the current minor.
e) Copy of the identity card of the authorizing parent(s).
f) Birth certificate of the minor(s) that contains a QR code.
g) If both parents are abroad, they must go to the Dominican consulate of the place where they reside and obtain the consular apostille at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (chancellery).
h) Payment of fees (Online or Banreservas in the name of the father, mother or guardian).

In addition to the documents indicated above, for special situations presented by some minors, the following requirements will be required: 

i) Minors of Dominican nationality who have custody of one of the parents:
The travel authorization of the other parent or the authorization of the Children’s and Adolescents’ Court.

j) Minors of Dominican nationality who have one or both parents residing outside the country:

If one or both parents are abroad, they must go to the Dominican consulate of the country where they reside and request a consular power, authorizing the departure of the minor from the country with their companion. The consular power must be apostilled and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

k) Minors of Dominican nationality whose parents have died:

Original legalized death certificate. If the father dies outside the country, he must deposit a copy of the apostille certificate, translated by a judicial interpreter and legalized in the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic.

l) Minors of Dominican nationality who do not have the authorization of one of the parents to travel:

Travel authorization issued by the Children and Adolescents Court.

m) Minors of Dominican nationality traveling with a legal guardian:

Original of the certified sentence granting custody and travel authorization, legalized in the Attorney General’s Office.

n) In cases where the minor is adopted by Foreigners leaving the country, prior to their trip, the presentation of the following documents will be required:

  1. Unextended birth certificate of the minor duly legalized, in which the adoptive filiation is established.
  2. Certified original of the adoption sentence legalized in the Attorney General’s Office.
  3. Passport for the minor of the corresponding nationality.
  4. The other requirements required by the DGM for travel certification of the minor.

Procedure to follow

1. Enter the DGM services portal (  https://servicios.migracion.gob.do/ ) and complete the application form.

1.1. The user must create an account and password, if he does not have one.

1.2. From the list of available services, choose the “Minor Permit” option, click on the request button and complete the required information on the forms.

2. Documents must be scanned in JPG format to be uploaded to the website.

3. If your documents are incomplete, you will be notified via email that you must complete the application with the missing documents on the platform.

4. If the documents uploaded to the website are correct, you will receive a notification via email so that you can proceed to make the payment (online, through Banreservas or with cards in the certification box.

5.Once you have received the notification or 24 business hours have passed since submitting your application, you must go to the selected office with the required documents.

PRACTICAL ADVICE BEFORE APPLYING FOR A PERMIT

I- Verify the validity of documents, especially identity cards, passports and visas.
II- The child’s photograph must be recent.
